Objective:To evaluate the cost-effectiveness of annual trivalent inactivated influenza vaccine(IIV3)under the context of Zhejiang province.Methods:A state transition simulation model was constructed to estimate the he...Objective:To evaluate the cost-effectiveness of annual trivalent inactivated influenza vaccine(IIV3)under the context of Zhejiang province.Methods:A state transition simulation model was constructed to estimate the health and economic outcomes of IIV3 vaccination program compared to no vaccination for hypothetical cohorts of Zhejiang province stratified by age and risk status.Model input parameters were chosen based on published literatures and expert advices.The analysis used societal perspectives and a one-year time horizon,and permanent outcomes were also included.The primary outcome was the incremental cost-effectiveness ratio(ICER),with expression of US dollars per quality adjusted life years(QALYs)gained.Results:In subgroups not at high risk for influenza-related complications(non-high risk subgroup),ICER ranged from $6268/QALY(for adults aged 50-64 years)to $11260/QALY(for children aged from 6 months to 4 years).In subgroups at high risk for influenza-related complications(high risk subgroup),ICER ranged from cost-saving(adults aged≥65 years)to $5260/QALY(for children aged from 6 months to 4 years).ICER were most sensitive to changes in probability of influenza illness,cost of hospitalization,and probability of death for adults aged 18-49 years with non-high risk status.Conclusions:ICERs of annual influenza vaccination varied by age and risk status but were less than the Gross Domestic Product(GDP)per capita of Zhejiang province($17745 in 2023),which remained cost-effective for all-age and different risk status groups from a societal perspective.展开更多
In this study,we used remotely sensed data,GIS modeling,and statistical methods to evaluate the damage caused by the Wenchuan Earthquake (May 12,2008) to the giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) habitat in the World N...In this study,we used remotely sensed data,GIS modeling,and statistical methods to evaluate the damage caused by the Wenchuan Earthquake (May 12,2008) to the giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) habitat in the World Nature Heritage Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuary (WHSGPS) in China.A landscape ecological analysis found increases of landscape heterogeneity,complexity,and fragmentation in the giant panda habitat after the earthquake.A terrain analysis found that slope and elevation are directly associated with the distribution of the damaged areas.As slope and elevation increase,the size of the damaged area keeps increase until to a peak,and then starts to drop.The total area of the damaged vegetation in our study area is 114.26 km 2,accounting for 3.78% of the study area;30.46% of that 114.26 km 2 is located in the Core Zone of WHSGPS.There are 18.57km 2 of the damaged vegetation located in the identified suitable giant panda habitat,accounting for 1.75% of the total area of suitable giant panda habitats in the study area.Based on these findings,we conclude that the Wenchuan Earthquake does not have significant impact on the WHSGPS as a whole.展开更多
Antibiotics and antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs)pose health risks in aquatic environments because of their persistence and mobility.River networks can provide a perfect opportunity for exploring the occurrence and en...Antibiotics and antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs)pose health risks in aquatic environments because of their persistence and mobility.River networks can provide a perfect opportunity for exploring the occurrence and enrichment of ARGs and antibiotics in freshwater environments.On this basis,the abundances of four types of antibiotics(sulfonamides,quinolones,tetracyclines,and macrolides)and 13 ARGs(sulⅠ,sulⅡ,tetA,tetB,tetO,tetW,qnrA,qnrS,qnrD,ermB,ermF,ermC,and ere A)were measured in the river networks of the west bank of the Wangyu River in China.The spatial distribution and temporal variation of these antibiotics and ARGs were characterized,and their controlling factors were analyzed.All four types of antibiotics were detected with high frequencies between 41%and 100%.Quinolone antibiotics exhibited the highest average concentration(286.53 ng/L).The concentrations of quinolones,tetracyclines,and macrolides were significantly higher in the winter than in the summer,whereas the concentration of sulfonamides was higher in wet periods than in dry periods.Of the 13 ARGs,sulⅠwas the most abundant(1.28 x 10^(5)copies per milliliter),followed by sulⅡand tetO(5.41×10^(4)and 4.45×10^(4)copies per milliliter,respectively).The canonical correspondence analysis showed that environmental factors,including dissolved oxygen,water temperature,total nitrogen,pH,and total phosphorus,had significant effects on the abundance of ARGs.sulⅠ,sulⅡ,tetA,and tetB were significantly correlated with 16S ribosomal RNA sequences,indicating that the bacterioplankton community might affect the distribution of ARGs.The correlation heat map analysis showed that the spread of ARGs was influenced by specific bacterial groups,such as Acidobacteria and Cyanobacteria,indicating that these bacterioplankton may be the hosts of environmental ARGs.展开更多
Tight conglomerate reservoirs are featured with extremely low permeability,strong heterogeneity and poor water injectivity.CO_(2) huff-n-puff has been considered a promising candidate to enhance oil recovery in tight ...Tight conglomerate reservoirs are featured with extremely low permeability,strong heterogeneity and poor water injectivity.CO_(2) huff-n-puff has been considered a promising candidate to enhance oil recovery in tight reservoirs,owing to its advantages in reducing oil viscosity,improving mobility ratio,quickly replenishing formation pressure,and potentially achieving a miscible state.However,reliable inhouse laboratory evaluation of CO_(2) huff-n-puff in natural conglomerate cores is challenging due to the inherent high formation pressure.In this study,we put forward an equivalent method based on the similarity of the miscibility index and Grashof number to acquire a lab-controllable pressure that features the flow characteristics of CO_(2) injection in a tight conglomerate reservoir.The impacts of depletion degree,pore volume injection of CO_(2) and soaking time on ultimate oil recovery in tight cores from the Mahu conglomerate reservoir were successfully tested at an equivalent pressure.Our results showed that oil recovery decreased with increased depletion degree while exhibiting a non-monotonic tendency(first increased and then decreased)with increased CO_(2) injection volume and soaking time.The lower oil recoveries under excess CO_(2) injection and soaking time were attributed to limited CO_(2) dissolution and asphaltene precipitation.This work guides secure and reliable laboratory design of CO_(2) huff-n-puff in tight reservoirs with high formation pressure.展开更多
BACKGROUND Diabetic retinopathy(DR)is a major microvascular complication of diabetes mellitus,leading to significant visual impairment and blindness among adults.Current treatment options are limited,making it essenti...BACKGROUND Diabetic retinopathy(DR)is a major microvascular complication of diabetes mellitus,leading to significant visual impairment and blindness among adults.Current treatment options are limited,making it essential to explore novel therapeutic strategies.Curcumol,a sesquiterpenoid derived from traditional Chinese medicine,has shown anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties,but its potential role in DR remains unclear.AIM To investigate the therapeutic effects of curcumol on the progression of DR and to elucidate the underlying molecular mechanisms,particularly its impact on the fat mass and obesity-associated(FTO)protein and the long non-coding RNA(lncRNA)MAF transcription factor G antisense RNA 1(MAFG-AS1).METHODS A streptozotocin-induced mouse model of DR was established,followed by treatment with curcumol.Retinal damage and inflammation were evaluated through histological analysis and molecular assays.Human retinal vascular endothelial cells were exposed to high glucose conditions to simulate diabetic environments in vitro.Cell proliferation,migration,and inflammation markers were assessed in curcumoltreated cells.LncRNA microarray analysis identified key molecules regulated by curcumol,and further experiments were conducted to confirm the involvement of FTO and MAFG-AS1 in the progression of DR.RESULTS Curcumol treatment significantly reduced blood glucose levels and alleviated retinal damage in streptozotocininduced DR mouse models.In high-glucose-treated human retinal vascular endothelial cells,curcumol inhibited cell proliferation,migration,and inflammatory responses.LncRNA microarray analysis identified MAFG-AS1 as the most upregulated lncRNA following curcumol treatment.Mechanistically,FTO demethylated MAFG-AS1,stabilizing its expression.Rescue experiments demonstrated that the protective effects of curcumol against DR were mediated through the FTO/MAFG-AS1 signaling pathway.CONCLUSION Curcumol ameliorates the progression of DR by modulating the FTO/MAFG-AS1 axis,providing a novel therapeutic pathway for the treatment of DR.These findings suggest that curcumol-based therapies could offer a promising alternative for managing this debilitating complication of diabetes.展开更多
