摘要
当前，地理信息系统的功能主要包括输入、存贮与检索、分析与处理、输出等。对于地学分析和模拟、辅助决策等能力却非常有限，即使是流行的ARC/INFO系统也只能构造结构化的模型，这远远不能满足半结构化或非结构化等规划与决策问题的需要。本文探讨了建立地理模型库系统的有关理论和技术，并将它引入地理信息系统，以支持用户对辅助决策功能的要求。最后介绍了建立在微机上的一个地理模型库系统，并用于黄土高原三川河流域区域治理与开发信息系统之中，加强了该系统支持地理分析和规划与决策的能力。

Though main functions of present Geographic Information System include input, store and retrieve, analysis and processing, output etc. it can do little to geographic analysis and simulation, as well as abilities such as plan-assisting and decision-making. Even the popular ARC/INFO system can only make the structured model, which can not meet the requirement of ill-structured spatial problems. In this paper, we have discus sed theories and methods on GMBS 'firstly, then introduced GMBS's being established in microcomputer and being applied to 'Reginal Harnessing and Development Informa tion System in SanChuan River Basin', therefore grearly strengthens functions of geogra phic analysis and decision of the GIS.
