英语习语是完整且具有独特意义的定型短语,英语习语的形成受到英语民族的地理环境、历史发展、风俗习惯、宗教信仰、文学艺术等诸多文化因素的影响;对于英语习语的翻译,可采用直译、意译和融合法。
English idiom is a set expression with complete and unique sense. Th e formation of English idioms is influenced by such cultural factors as historic al developments,customs,religious beliefs,literature and arts of the British nat ion.For the translation of English idioms,literal,liberal and literal plus liber al translation can be used.
