摘要
在英汉各自的文学作品中都有大量的成语，成语以其精辟、形象、生动等特点，牢固地确立了它在英语中的地位。翻译时若能处理好这些成语可以更传神地反映原作的风姿，使文学作品中的语言更形象生动，从而为译作增色，读者也能更好地欣赏和体会这些文学作品。值得注意的是，成语是人们在劳动、生活、娱乐等文化活动中积累的相传远已久、约定俗成、具有完整独特意义的词语，是与文化活动关系密切的最典型的表现，
We aim to make an analysis of the different culture influence on domesticating translation and foreignizing translation of idioms and make a comparison between assimilative method and dssimilative method. This paper points out that assimilation is the base of translation and dissimilation is a linguistic behavior and a cultural phenomenon common in translation works, thus, a good translation provides palatable dissimilation on the basis of loyalty in meaning so as to narrow differences in culture and achieve optimization of the target language. Moreover, dissimilation will benefit cultural exchange.
