摘要
左宗棠是近代以来对西北生态环境给予深切关注和进行初步治理的第一人。在西北十余年中,他从改善各族人民生存环境出发,制定了一套包含着某些治理生态环境趋向的开发计划,从植树造林、兴修水利、合理垦荒、美化城市等方面,对西北地区的生态环境进行了诸多有益的保护与建设,在一定程度上改善了西北地区的生态状况。
Zuo Zongtang was the first one who showed close attention to and took preliminary measures to harness ecological environment in the northwest. During his over ten year's stay in the northwest, proceeding from improvements on living environment of nationalities, he made a set of development plans intending to harness ecological environment. Measures were taken to plant forests, build irrigation works, reclaim wasteland rationally, and beautify cities, which had contributed to the protection and construction of ecological environment in the northwest and to a certain extent had improved the ecological situation.
