摘要
从事翻译的人都知道,无论译者何等努力,要做到绝对忠实是不可能的,因为要实现原语到目的语的转换免不了要遇上两种语言之间的诸多障碍。但若因这些障碍就把一些难以表达的东西认定为不可译,这是不可取的。其实,译界视为“不可译”的诸多例句不仅“可译”,其中一部分还可“译好”。
All translators know that, however hard they try, it is impossible t o achieve complete truthfulness, the reason being that there are barriers of eve ry kind during the transformation from one language to the other. Yet it is not right to regard whatever hard to render as untranslatable just because of those barriers. This paper intends to prove that some examples labeled as “untranslat able”are in fact “translatable”, some of which can even be further improved.
