摘要
本文拟就译者的身份问题进行探讨。首先 ,从历时的比较中探索译者身份的变化脉络 :从幕后到幕前 ,从隐形人到主体。其次 ,就当代各流派译论对译者的阐述进行共时分析 ,认为作为翻译活动主体的译者具有双重身份 :操纵者和被操纵者。翻译实践的不断繁荣和翻译理论的持续发展加深了人类对翻译活动的认识 ,促成了译者身份的变化。
With the development of sophisticated translation theories and the deepening of our understanding of translating as a socio-cultural practice, the translator is increasingly assuming a multiple identity. Once an invisible, ghostly presence behind the textual 'scene', she is now being granted a lead role in the signifying process and threatens even to upstage the author. Having to mediate between the text and the context, she is at once manipulated and manipulating.
