To benefit the planning and administration in Beijing, this paper, based on the comparison of the data of the fifth national census and the population distribution in 1980s, analyzes the new trend of the spatial changes of demographic distribution in Beijing in 1990s, of which the total population, the permanent and the temporary residents within the municipal territory, peripheries and districts are all covered. Also, the paper tries to indicate the newly trend of suburbanization development since 1990s with the case of Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou respectively.
