Cold storage at 4℃ in refrigerator has great influence on SOD activity, and its variation is similar and correlative to that of cold stress at 4℃. On the first day of cold storage at 4℃, SOD activity increases sharply, and gets to the highest after 36 hours or so, then it begins to decrease, 72 hours later it tends towards stability. In different stages at cold storage, it always discovers that SOD activity in cold resistant broad bean is stronger than that in cold sensitive mung bean, and its in cotyledon is stronger than in hypocotyls.
