The voltage stability of a marine power station depends on the voltage response characteristics of voltage regulating system of synchronous generator( s) of the station. In order to restrain load disturbance and improve dynamic pre c ision of the voltage regulating system of synchronous generators(s), a controll er for the voltage regulating system of synchronous generator(s) is designed by use of H ∞ control theory in this paper,in this way,the specifications of the voltage r egulating system is transformed into a standard H ∞ control problem. The compu ter simulation results show that the H ∞ controller improves the precision of the system and the capability of restraining load disturbance.
