Camptotheca acuminata Decne is a anticancer plant native in China. Camptothecin (CPT) contents in younger and mature leaves of Camptotheca acuminata from 14 regions of 6 provinces were determined, the results showed that CPT content was highest in leaves from Dujiangyan, Sichuan province. CPT content exhibited a single apex curve in young leaves from April to November, it reached the highest content in July.
