摘要
语域和语类是系统功能语言学中的两个重要概念,也是语篇分析的重要理论基础.Halliday和Hasan(1976)提到语域在语篇连贯中的作用,但没有对这一问题进行深入讨论.Eggins(1994)发展了Halliday和Hasan的观点,首次提出语域连贯和语类连贯的概念,但也没有进行全面探究.由于目前的连贯研究不重视对语篇本身的研究,而侧重于对读者的理解的研究,所以研究者对语域连贯和语类连贯没有给予足够的重视.本文的观点是,研究语篇的语域连贯和语类连贯,不仅可以丰富和完善基于语篇本身的连贯研究,而且能够开拓连贯研究的新途径.
Register and genre are two key concepts in systemic-functional linguistics, which are also important theoretical constructs for text analysis. Halliday & Hasan(1976) mentioned that text is coherent with respect to the context of situation. However, they did not explore this issue further. Eggins(1994) developed Halliday and Hasan's notion of registerial consistence and brought forth the conception of registerial coherence and generic coherence. This paper further develops Eggins's conception and explores registerial coherence and generic coherence in greater detail.
