摘要
本文从"宁可"的情态义入手,对"宁可"复句肯定、否定的对称与不对称等问题作了较深入的研究。文章首先分析了入句命题的预设评价对"宁可"复句中两个小句肯定与否定形式的制约作用。然后在此基础上分析归纳了"宁可"的规约含义。最后,文章就有关工具书中经常描写的"与其……宁可……"句式作了共时和历时等方面的考察,结果发现,这一句式不仅不获实际语料和语感的支持,而且也缺乏语言学上的理据。
On the basis of the discussion of modality meaning of the adverb ningke (宁可) , the paper deals with the positive-negative symmetry and asymmetry of sentences with ningke(宁可). It is pointed out that it is just the subjective evaluation of the proposition that constraints the distributions of the positive and negative clauses in this sentence pattern. In order to understand the meaning and usage of ningke (宁可), the article provides an analysis of its conventional implicature on the basis of the preceding discussion. According to some authorized dictionaries, ningke(宁可) usually comes together with yuqi(与其) , which forms the sentence pattern 'yuqi ┈ingke┈(与其┈宁可┈)'. The paper discusses this pattern from both synchronic and diachronic perspective with the result that the description and illustration of the pattern from the dictionaries is not supported by the investigations of the corpus, and lacks linguistic motivation.
