语言的发展是一种从休眠中复苏式的新陈代谢的复杂过程 ,而不是简单的互不相干的割裂式的消亡与新生。休眠语言具有积极和消极两个方面的因素。研究语言的休眠、复苏和新陈代谢对于描画语言演变的历史轨迹 ,总结语言发展的规律 ,预测语言未来的趋势 ,制订国家语言文字政策 ,都具有重要的意义。

The dormant language have two sides of positive and negative.
