Laser induced plasma can be classified as metal plasma and shielding gas plasma. By decreasing the ionization threshold value of the shielding gas, Laser TIG promote the generation of Laser supported combustion (LSC). The mechanism of LSC and its effect on the Laser TIG were fully discussed by theoretical study and experimental measurement using CCD(Charge Coupled Device) to inspect shape of arc and plasma.
