摘要
文化差异是翻译中的障碍。文章对英汉习语所反映的地域文化、习俗文化、宗教文化、思维等方面差异进行了深入细致的分析,在此基础上提出了英汉习语翻译的具体原则和方法。即:少量相同或近似的习语相互直译;不宜保留字面意义和形象意义的可意译;典故、谚语等可进行扩译等。
Cultural differences between Chinese and English languages often present obstacles for us Chinese to learn or translate. In this article, their chief differences in five aspects are introduced, and principles and methods of English and Chinese idiom translation are proposed.
