摘要
新加坡英语是众多英语变体的一种 ,其表达方式与英国英语、美国英语以及其它英语变体有明显差异 ,主要原因在于大多数新加坡人来自中国南方沿海地区 ,其次来自马来西亚、印度、阿拉伯半岛以及欧洲等。因此 ,与英国英语相比 ,新加坡英语的单词、语气词、短语、惯用语以及重复等具有中国南方方言的特点。
Singapore English is one of the varieties of English in the world.Its expressions are very different from other varieties mainly because most of the people in Singapore are from the coastal areas in the south of China; some from Malaysia,India,Arabia and Europe.Therefore,compared with British English,a number of words,modal particles,phrases,idioms as well as repetitions in Singapore English have the special features of the dialects in the south of China. These features make Singapore English extremely unique.
