This paper elaborates the concept and classification of Uncooled Staring Infrared Focal Plain Array (USIFPA) and discusses its characteristics in structure, performance, signal treatment and making. In addition, it deals briefly with the application of USIFPA in and the developing tendency, and puts forward several suggestions.
