描述了材料科学和材料工程的作用和将来发展趋势的概貌。除了对材料的技术科学相关性以及日本、美国和欧洲共同体中材料研究状况作了分析外,还提供了西德联邦材料研究检验院在发展检测技术方面近来的成果。
The paper gives an overview on the impact and future trends of materials scie-nce and engineering.Besides an analysis of the techno scientific relevance of materials and thestatus of materials research in Japan,USA and the European Community,recent results on mea-surement and testing developments of the Federal Institute of Materials Resenrch and Testing arepresented.
