文化缺省与补偿:中国传统纺织纹样与工艺在跨文化传播中的翻译与阐释策略

摘要 中国传统纺织纹样与工艺承载着极为丰富的历史文脉和哲学内涵,其图案通常取材于神话传说、自然崇拜以及文学经典,具有装饰功能,是文化观念和审美意象的凝结。在跨文化传播过程中,由于语境差异和知识结构不同,受众通常面临文化缺省情况。然而,目标文化中缺失的背景信息使纹样与工艺背后的象征意义、历史典故以及情感价值无法被有效理解,造成语义传递的损耗和文化深意的遮蔽。文章以文化缺省理论为切入点,结合苏珊·巴斯奈特的文化翻译观,探讨中国传统纺织纹样与工艺对外传播时的阐释与翻译策略,聚焦3类典型的文化缺省现象:纹样寓意缺省(如“八吉祥”“五毒纹”等蕴含的民俗与宗教观念)、工艺术语缺省(如“缂丝”“刺绣”“绞缬”等技术名称及其制作逻辑)、色彩象征缺省(如“中国红”“青绿”“土黄”等在历史与社会语境中的文化指向),提出在翻译与阐释过程中应采取多层次、动态的补偿机制,覆盖文化解释、视觉辅助、文化类比与语境重构等策略。研究认为,中国传统纺织纹样的跨文化传播实际上是一种以物质文化为载体的意义协商与审美对话,应建立开放且连贯的文化阐释系统。 Traditional Chinese textile patterns and crafts carry rich historical context and philosophical connotations.These patterns are often derived from mythological legends,nature worship and literary classics,and have decorative functions.They are the condensation of cultural concepts and aesthetic images.In the process of cross-cultural communication,due to differences in context and knowledge structure,audiences often face cultural default situations.However,the lack of background information in the target culture makes it difficult to effectively understand the symbolic meanings,historical allusions,and emotional values behind patterns and crafts,resulting in the loss of semantic transmission and the masking of cultural depth.This paper adopts the theory of cultural default as its entry point,integrating Susan Bassnett’s perspective on cultural translation to explore strategies for interpreting and translating traditional Chinese textile patterns and crafts for international dissemination.It focuses on three typical types of cultural default:the default in pattern symbolism(such as the folk and religious concepts embedded in patterns like the“eight auspicious symbols”and the“five poisons pattern”),the default in technical terminology(such as the names and production logic of techniques like“Kesi”“embroidery”and“Jiaoxie”),and the default in color symbolism(such as the cultural significances of“Chinese red”“Qinglyu”“earth yellow”within their historical and social contexts),and proposes adopting a multi-layered and dynamic compensation mechanism during translation and interpretation,covering strategies such as cultural explanation,visual aids,cultural analogy,and contextual reconstruction.Research suggests that the cross-cultural communication of traditional Chinese textile patterns is essentially a process of meaning negotiation and aesthetic dialogue mediated through material culture,necessitating the establishment of an open and coherent system for cultural interpretation.
