摘要
《故乡》作为鲁迅短篇小说的经典之作,其英译本的乡土语言转码与文化传递和译者行为密切相关,直接影响作品译介的传播效果。以译者行为批评理论中的“文本-行为-社会”三位一体评价系统为理论框架,选取杨宪益、戴乃迭合译本与蓝诗玲译本为研究对象,比较译者的译者行为。研究发现,在“文本-语言视域”,杨宪益、戴乃迭译本以“求真”为主导,侧重保留乡土语言的文化特质;蓝诗玲译本则倾向“务实”。在“行为-文本视域”,译者身份差异及出版机构属性显著形塑翻译策略选择。在“行为-社会视域”,读者反馈显示蓝诗玲译本凭借更高的可读性与品牌优势,较杨宪益、戴乃迭合译本获得更广泛的关注与传播。
My Old Home is a classic work of Lu Xun’s short stories.The transcoding of the local dialect and the cultural transmission in the English translations of My Old Home are closely related to the translator’s behavior,which directly affects the dissemination effect of the translated work.Taking the“Text-Behavior-Society”Trinity Evaluation System from translator behavior criticism theory as its theoretical framework,this study selects the translated version by Yang Xianyi and Gladys Yang and the translated version by Julia Lovell as the research objects to compare their respective translator behaviors.The study finds that,from the perspective of“text-language”,in the translated version by Yang Xianyi and Gladys Yang,the principle of“truth-seeking”is dominant,with an emphasis on preserving the cultural characteristics of the local dialect.In contrast,Julia Lovell’s translated version tends to be“utility-attaining”.From the perspective of“behavior-text”,the differences in translator identities and the attributes of publishing institutions significantly shape the choice of translation strategies.From the perspective of“behavior-society”,the reader feedback shows that,due to its higher readability and brand advantages,Julia Lovell’s translated version has received more extensive attention and dissemination compared with the translated version by Yang Xianyi and Gladys Yang.
