摘要
基于国家知识产权示范城市设立的政策背景,本文运用2010—2021年中国A股上市制造业企业数据,探讨了知识产权保护对劳动投资效率的影响及作用机制。研究发现:实施知识产权保护显著提升了企业劳动投资效率。机制分析发现,知识产权保护通过促进企业人工智能技术发展改善劳动投资效率,表现为企业人工智能应用程度与实际创新的同步推进。异质性分析表明,知识产权保护对劳动投资效率的改善作用在高效率企业和民营企业中更为明显,而企业资历对此未产生显著影响。此外,地区市场化程度和经济聚集水平也会提升知识产权保护对劳动投资效率的改善作用。拓展性分析发现,劳动投资效率的提升主要表现为企业减少低技能劳动力的冗余雇佣。本文基于人工智能技术创新的视角,揭示了知识产权保护对企业人力资本配置的影响,为深化创新驱动发展战略、推动中国经济高质量发展提供重要参考。
Based on the policy of establishing“National Intellectual Property Model Cities”,this paper uses data from Chinese A-share listed manufacturing firms from 2010 to 2021 to examine the impact and mechanism of intellectual property protection on labor investment efficiency.The study finds that the implementation of intellectual property protection can improve firms’labor investment efficiency significantly.The mechanism analysis reveals that intellectual property protection enhances labor investment efficiency by promoting the development of artificial intelligence(AI)technologies within firms,as reflected in the synchronized advancement of AI application and actual innovation.Heterogeneity analysis indicates that the positive effect of intellectual property protection on labor investment efficiency is more pronounced among high-efficiency firms and private enterprises,while firm age has no significant influence.Furthermore,regional marketization levels and economic agglomeration also strengthen the positive impact of intellectual property protection on labor investment efficiency.Further analysis shows that the improvement in labor investment efficiency is primarily reflected in the reduction of redundant employment of lowskilled labor.From the perspective of AI-driven technological innovation,this paper reveals the influence of intellectual property protection on firms’human capital allocation,providing important insights for deepening the innovation-driven development strategy and promoting high-quality economic growth in China.
