This paper systematically explores the theoretical framework of academic entrepreneurship ecosystems, selecting the University of California as a representative case to analyze the construction, operation, and key determinants of its ecosystem. The study finds that the University of California fosters the efficient commercialization of research outcomes and innovation-driven development through a sophisticated organizational structure, strong university-industry partnerships,a supportive regional environment, and a multi-tiered policy framework.Key factors influencing entrepreneurial performance across its campuses include disciplinary structure, the availability of industrial resources, and robust policy support. To address the challenges in China's higher education, such as fragmented academic entrepreneurship practices and inadequate resource allocation, this paper proposes three recommendations:first,to adopt a holistic ecosystem perspective that emphasizes multi-stakeholder collaboration and resource mobility;second,to optimize academic disciplines to foster synergistic interactions with regional industries;and third,to enhance the policy chain to ensure end-to-end support for the entire commercialization process.
