摘要
世俗批评主张在具体的历史情境中解读文本,揭示文本与现世的关联。现世作为文本境况的概括化表达,是世俗批评最为核心的阐发点。在具体的批评实践中,世俗批评的现世性要求深刻观照文本的动态发生,意图多维度地描述这一过程,并在这一过程中揭示文学的历史性与事件性,呈现文学中的“态度与指涉结构”。在萨义德的世俗批评中,康拉德作为一个代表性案例具有开端性地位,并在其整个批评生涯中被反复提及。《康拉德与自传的虚构》开创了历史化与事件化的批评风格,《文化与帝国主义》则以文本意识形态的二重性为策略,深入分析了康拉德《黑暗的心》何以拥有这一文本特征,以及这一特征潜藏的文本的现世性内涵。
Secular criticism advocates interpreting texts within specific historical contexts and revealing the connection between texts and the world.Worldliness,as a generalized expression of a text's circumstances,is the core focus of secular criticism.In concrete critical practice,the worldliness of secular criticism necessitates a profound examination of the text's dynamic genesis It aims to describe this process multidimensionally,thereby revealing literature's historicity and eventfulness,and presenting the"structure of attitude and reference"within it.In Said's secular criticism,Conrad,as a representative case,holds an inaugural position and is repeatedly referenced throughout his entire critical career.Conrad and the Fiction of Autobiography pioneered a historical and event-oriented critical style,while Culture and Imperialism,by taking the duality of textual ideology as its strategy,conducts an in-depth analysis of how Conrad's Heart of Darkness comes to possess this textual feature and the implicit worldly connotations of the text embedded in this feature.
