Professor Chiu’s Shakespeare’s Sonnets:Select Reading with a Commentary is a work that combines knowledge popularization,language learning,and selected translations,aiming at making Shakespeare accessible to a broader audience.Based on a cross-cultural perspective,the book takes a poetic-historical approach to immersereaders in the world of Shakespeare and provides multiple language learning strategies to help them improve English skills.At the same time,the book draws on diverse translations,highlighting various translation styles of Shakespeare’s sonnets under different contexts.It serves as a key for readers to unlock the treasure trove of Shakespeare’s poetry,allowing them to engage in a dialogue with Shakespeare across time and space.
