This review article explores the application of the toxicological threshold of concern(TTC)methodology in the safety evaluation of plant extracts commonly used in cosmetic formulations.It expounds on the foundational principles of the TTC approach,its range of applicability,and the detailed steps involved in its implementation.Additionally,the review addresses the critical factors and precautions essential to the assessment of plant extract safety.Through highlighting the advantages and constraints of the TTC method,the article reveals its efficacy in ensuring the safety of plant extracts in cosmetics.It provides a solid theoretical framework and practical insights for the safe utilization of these extracts in the cosmetic industry.Furthermore,the review contributes to the advancement and enhancement of cosmetic safety assessment techniques,driving the industry towards healthier and more sustainable development.
