Objective:To explore the application effect of personalized nursing under the medical community model in middleaged and elderly patients with periodontal disease. Methods:A total of 680 middle-aged and elderly patients with periodontal disease admitted to Xingning People's Hospital from August 2023 to March 2025 were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into a control group(n=340)and an intervention group(n=340)using a random number table method. The control group received routine nursing, while the intervention group received personalized nursing under the medical community model. The oral hygiene status, oral health self-efficacy,and oral health quality of life were compared between two groups. Results:After intervention, the plaque index, gingival index, and gingival bleeding index in two groups decreased, and these parameters in the intervention group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.001).After intervention, the oral health self-efficacy scale scores increased, while the Chinese version of the oral health impact profile scores decreased in two groups, and the improvement in the intervention group was greater than that in the control group(P<0.001).Conclusion:The personalized nursing under the medical community model can improve the oral hygiene status of middle-aged and elderly patients with periodontal disease, enhance their oral health self-efficacy,and improve their oral health quality of life.
