摘要
学者多以为传世文献中的“由”“䌛”二字自古相互通用,甚至是无区别的。据战国秦汉出土简帛和《说文解字》《尔雅》《康熙字典》等字书,以及其他传世文献中的种种线索综合判断,战国(秦、楚等国域)及秦汉时期的“䌛”字应是“由”的规范字。相应时域传世规范文献中“由”字的使用不符合当时用字规范,存在因袭前代旧文或经由后人补改可能。
Most scholars believe that the words“由”and“䌛”have been used interchangeably since ancient times,or even the same without any distinction.Based on the various clues from the unearthed bamboo and silk manuscripts and the“Shuowen Jiezi”,“Erya”,“Kangxi Dictionary”and other extant documents,it can be concluded that the character“䌛”was the standard character for“由”during the Warring States(Qin,Chu,etc.)and the Qin and Han periods.The use of the character“由”in the corresponding time-domain standard literature does not conform to the character usage norms of that time,and there is a possibility of inheriting from the old text of previous dynasties or being supplemented and modified by later generations.
