摘要
骨条藻Skeletonema costatum (Greville) Cleve,中华盒形藻Biddulphia sinensis Greville和扭鞘藻Streptotheca thamesis Shrubsole在自然海区的分布比较广,被认为是广温广盐性的沿岸种类。可是,它们仅能在一定海区、一定时期内大量出现。据调查,这些种类茌我国沿岸各海区从南到北都有,但在不同地区其个体数量的分布情况则有所不同,这说明了它们的生长繁殖与环境条件有密切关系。
Skeletonema costatum(Grev.)Cleve,Biddulphia sinensis Greville,and Streptotheca thamesis Shrubsole are widely distributed in the China sea,where the Skeletonema usually becomes a dominant species in certain seasons.Temperature,and salinity are two of the most important factors influencing their growth,and consequently their distribution.The present investigation was therefore carried out to find out experimentally the favorable and optimal temperature and salinity for their growth.1.The suitable range of salinity for Skeletonema was 7-50‰,and best in 25-30‰.The suitable range of salinity for Biddulphia was 10-40‰,and for Streptotheca was 15-40‰.The present results on salinity for Skeletonema are comparable with the results of Matsue(1954)and Curl(1961).2.The suitable range of temperature for Skeletonema was 8-32℃,optimal in 20-25℃.The suitable range was 10-30℃,and optimal in 25-28℃for Biddulphia,while in.10-30℃for Streptotheca and best in 20-25℃.3.Streptotheca thamesis showed greater tolerance for higher temperature than Biddulphia sinensis,but smaller tolerance than Skeletonema costatum,while the reverse is true of the order of tolerance for lower temperature.These results agreed with the subtropical habitat of the three species of diatoms isolated from the Amoy waters.4.Under the different conditions(Temperature and salinity)of culture,there appear various forms of cell-variation in both Biddulphia and Streptotheca at later stages of culture.This is probably due to the shortage of certain nutrient elements,but is not related to either temperature or salinity.5.Salinity is capable of affecting cell-size.This is most marked in Biddulphia--shorter longitudinal axis at high salinity and longer axis at low salinity,whilst in the other two species this phenomenon is by no means very marked.
