In the context of global climate change governance,it is crucial to explore the role of artificial intelligence in improving supply chain efficiency and achieving carbon emission reduction.Based on the analysis of the data from China’s A-share listed companies from 2010 to 2022,this paper delves into the impact of artificial intelligence on corporate carbon emissions and the underlying mechanisms. The findings reveal that AI significantly reduces carbon emissions, especially among enterprises in the eastern region,technology-intensive enterprises,state-owned enterprises, and low-technology and low-pollution enterprises. In this process, supply chain efficiency acts as a key mediator of the impact of AI on carbon emissions.Further research shows that accelerating the green transformation of enterprises and strengthening government environmental regulation can significantly enhance the role of AI in curbing carbon emissions. The study clarifies the logical connection and impact mechanism between AI and corporate carbon emissions, which provides important theoretical support and empirical evidence for policy formulation;meanwhile,it proposes a governance framework with multiple synergies of technology, economy and regulation for the global response to climate change.
