MEDOG IN MOTION Sanlian Lifeweek 13 October Stretching along the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon,the county of Medog lies on the southeastern edge of the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau.Nestled deep within the Himalayas,Medog remains one of the most secluded regions in the world.For centuries,the Lhoba and Monba peoples have called it home,living in harmony with the land and preserving a way of life largely untouched by the outside world.That isolation finally ended in 2013 with the completion of the Bomi-Medog Highway.Though only 117-km long,the road took nearly half a century to construct.Its opening marked the end of Medog’s distinction as“China’s last county without a road.”
