摘要
统筹新型工业化、新型城镇化和乡村全面振兴是实现中国式现代化的必由之路。本文采用随机前沿方法计算地级市农业全要素生产率,系统考察城市规模演进对农业全要素生产率的影响及作用机制。研究发现:城市规模扩张能够显著提升农业全要素生产率,这一结论在控制内生性和稳健性检验后依然成立。在作用机制方面,城市规模扩张在要素配置维度推动现代生产要素替代传统要素并提升要素质量,在技术赋能维度强化技术创新扩散效应提升农业技术水平,在市场需求维度创造规模化、多元化的农产品需求以促进农业结构升级。异质性分析表明,政策支持力度较强的中小型城市以及农户经营规模处于“两端”(偏小或偏大)的城市,其规模扩张对农业全要素生产率的促进作用更为显著。本文验证了城市规模扩张对农业全要素生产率的作用机制,为推进城乡融合发展提供理论支撑和政策启示。
Coordinating new-type industrialization,new-type urbanization and comprehensive rural revitalization is an essential pathway to achieving Chinese-style modernization.This paper adopts the stochastic frontier analysis(SFA)to calculate the agricultural total factor productivity(TFP)of prefecture-level cities,and systematically examines the impact of city scale evolution on agricultural TPF and its underlying mechanisms.The findings reveal that urban expansion significantly enhances agricultural TFP,a conclusion that remains robust after addressing endogeneity and conducting rigorous sensitivity tests.In terms of functional mechanism,the expansion of urban scale promotes the replacement of traditional factors by modern factors of production and improves the quality of factors in the dimension of factor allocation,strengthens the diffusion effect of technological innovation in the dimension of technological empowerment to improve the level of agricultural technology,and creates large-scale and diversified demand for agricultural products to lead to the upgrading of the agricultural structure in the dimension of market demand.Heterogeneity analysis indicates that small and medium-sized cities with stronger policy support and cities where the size of farmers'operations is at the"two ends of the spectrum"(small or large)have a more significant effect of scale expansion on total factor productivity in agriculture.This study validates the mechanism through which urban expansion affects agricultural TFP,providing theoretical support and policy implications for advancing integrated urban-rural development.
