摘要
For 65 million years, the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates have collided without pause. At the northeastern edge of the Indian Plate where the impact is most intense, three great mountain ranges converge and compress dramatically:the Himalayas, the Nyenchen Tanglha, and the Hengduan Mountains. Here, the land bends sharply, folding in on itself at nearly 90 degrees.Like mountains tying themselves into knots, this phenomenon is known as the Eastern Himalayan Syntaxis.Rising from this core, two peaks serve as its pivotal anchors:Namcha Barwa, towering at 7,782 meters, and Gyala Peri,at 7,294 meters.Between these titans, the Yarlung Zangbo River-unceasing in its flow and erosion-has worked in tandem with the surrounding peaks to carve one of the most awe-inspiring landscapes on Earth:the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon.
