摘要
近年来,“废墟”作为描述数字媒介世界中失效、断裂与废弃状态的概念,频繁出现在媒介与传播研究中。本文以“废墟”为线索,追问为何“废墟”再次成为关注焦点,媒介在形形色色的废墟现象中扮演何种角色,“废墟”与数字技术有何关联。通过回溯建筑废墟的媒介建构流变,文章指出“废墟”在不同媒介的作用下被符号化、风景化和奇观化,成为辨识媒介变迁与媒介权力的关键景观。本文进一步梳理了数字时代废墟现象的多种形态,包括游戏与平台中的虚拟废墟、城市废墟探险中的非连接地理,以及被遗弃后更加“可见”的媒介基础设施。这些现象共同提示了“废墟”作为媒介批判的新视角和新方法的可能性,促使我们重新思考数字时代的时间逻辑、空间结构与生态物质基础。废墟不是技术的终点,而是孕育替代性未来与新生态的起点。
In recent years,"ruins"have emerged as a key concept in media and communication studies,used to describe states of failure,disconnection,and abandonment in the digital media environment.This article takes"ruins"as a thematic thread to ask why has the notion of ruins regained prominence?What role does media play in the proliferation of ruinous phenomena?And how are"ruins"intertwined with digital technologies?By tracing the shifting media constructions of architectural ruins,this paper argues that"ruins"have been symbolized,aestheticized,and spectacularized through different media,becoming key landscapes for recognizing media transformations and technological power.The study further outlines the multiple forms that ruins take in the digital age,including virtual ruins within games and platforms,disconnection geographies revealed through urban ruin exploration,and media infrastructures that become more"visible"precisely through their abandonment.These phenomena together highlight the potential of"ruins"as a critical lens and methodological entry point into media studies,prompting a reconsideration of the temporal logic,spatial configuration,and ecological material conditions of the digital era.Ruins are not the endpoint of technology,but the starting point for imagining alternative futures and new ecological possibilities.
