It is a vital component of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture to emphasize upholding the cultural subjectivity of the Chinese nation from the perspective of Chinese cultural genes.This reflects both the original theoretical contributions and the fundamental practical imperatives of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture.Xi Jinping Thought on Culture regards the Party’s cultural leadership and the cultural subjectivity of the Chinese nation as foundational theoretical pillars.These two dimensions are internally connected and share consistent practical requirements,both grounded in a high degree of recognition of and commitment to the inheritance and innovation of Chinese cultural genes.The enduring vitality and profound depth of Chinese civilization owe much to the continuous renewal and luminous strength of these cultural genes.Building a socialist cultural power entails both a return to roots and a reinforcement of foundations;upholding the cultural subjectivity of the Chinese nation from the dimension of cultural genes is thus a strategic initiative of profound significance.A deep understanding of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s key expositions on cultural genes and cultural subjectivity,a comprehensive grasp of the philosophical principle that such subjectivity must be based on inherited and innovated cultural genes,and a conscious adherence to the practical path of safeguarding subjectivity through such inheritance and innovation are of immense theoretical and practical importance.These efforts are crucial for identifying focal points in the reform of the cultural system in the new era,strengthening cultural confidence,promoting coordinated development of material and spiritual civilization in Chinese-style modernization,enhancing national cultural soft power,and building a modern socialist cultural power.
