Premature ovarian failure(POF)refers to a serious reproductive system disease with abnormal menstruation, disordered estrogen levels, and decreased fertility as the main clinical manifestations in women before the age of 40.Autophagy is a key mechanism of mammalian cell metabolism and plays a key role in the pathogenesis of premature ovarian failure. The“positive and negative”theory,as an important theory to describe the occurrence and development of diseases,is closely related to the development of premature ovarian failure. In this regard, the“positive and negative”theory emphasizes the dynamic balance between positive and negative qi,which is consistent with the function of cell autophagy in maintaining the health of the body. Therefore, regulating the autophagy process through traditional Chinese medicine and strengthening the positive and eliminating the negative qi may become an effective way to prevent and treat premature ovarian failure.Based on this theory, this paper intends to take the balance of positive and negative as the starting point to explore the role of cell autophagy in premature ovarian failure from a macroscopic and microscopic perspective, aiming to provide new directions and methods for the treatment of premature ovarian failure with the combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine. This will contribute to the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine theory and provide new theoretical support.
