摘要
荷兰汉学家高罗佩集中国传统琴学技艺与知识于一身,在翻译和创作的基础上完成著作The Lore of the Chinese Lute(《琴道》)。目前学界对于该部琴学著作的研究仅从单一的异语写作或翻译角度切入,未能关注到二者之间互释互构、互相拓展的渐变连续体关系。本文基于“碎片式底本”追踪方法,发现该著作蕴含大量典型的无本译写元素,揭示了高罗佩无本译写行为的本质特征,即基于文献整合的“研译”和出于文化引介的“译写”复合行为模式。该研究可为典籍文本中的无本译写元素、复杂译写关系以及无本译写者的无本译写行为描述与阐释提供借鉴,推动无本译写研究,并为中国文化走出去提供一定启示。
The Dutch sinologist Robert Hansvan Gulik,equipped with the skills and knowledge of traditional Chinese guqin studies,completed his work The Lore of the Chinese Lute based on translation and writing.Currently,academic researches on this guqin-related work only approach it from the single perspective of foreign language writing or translation,while the mutually interpretive,constructive,and gradually evolving continuum relationship between the two has been left unnoticed.Based on the method of fragmented source texts tracking,this paper discovers that this work is replete with numerous typical elements of multisource transwriting.It reveals the essential characteristics of Gulik’s behavior of multisource transwriting,namely,a composite behavior pattern of“research-based translation”grounded in literature integration and“transwriting”for the purpose of cultural dissemination.This research can provide reference for the description and interpretation of elements of multisource transwriting and complex transwriting relationships in Chinese classics,and the behavior of those engaging in transwriting,thereby promoting the research on multisource transwriting and facilitating the dissemination of Chinese culture.
