摘要
普赖斯一生著作颇丰,研究领域跨越物理学和数学、科学史、科学社会学、科学学、科技政策、科学计量学等多个学科。论文追溯了普赖斯科学史领域的学术成就,着重梳理了普赖斯在古科学仪器研究方面的贡献,探讨了普赖斯对行星赤道仪、中国宋代大天文钟、中世纪水钟机械、古希腊风塔和安第凯色诺日历计算器等的研究成果,以期从这一侧面展现普赖斯在科学史领域的学术价值。
Price’s great academic achievements cover various fields including physics and mathematics,the history of science,sociology of science,the science of science,science and technology policy,and scientometrics.This paper traces Price’s academic achievements to the history of science,focusing on combing his research of ancient scientific instruments.It explores his work on the planetary equatorial instrument,the great astronomical clock of the Song Dynasty,medieval water clock machinery,the ancient Greek wind tower,and the Antikythera calendar calculator.The main aim of the paper is to show the academic value of Price in the history of science through his research on ancient scientific instruments.
