摘要
本文以地中海世界生态环境的统一性和多样性为背景,分析罗马帝国时代植物交换及其对意大利农业的影响。笔者试图从物质文化层面揭示地中海世界的全球化过程,强调帝国对跨文化交流的推动作用,指出由于忽视文明交流互鉴,以往研究低估了罗马意大利农业和经济的发展水平。事实上,近代早期罗马农学知识复兴,是欧洲农业进步和18世纪英国农业革命的催化剂。
This article explores the exchange of plants in the Roman Empire and its impact on Italian agriculture against the background of the unity and diver-sity of the ecological environment in the Mediterranean world.It attempts to reveal the globalization process of the Mediterranean world from the perspective of materi-al culture,emphasizes the role of the empire in promoting cross-cultural exchan-ges,and points out that previous studies have greatly underestimated the level of development of Roman Italy's agriculture and economy due to the neglect of ex-changes and mutual learning between civilizations.In fact,the revival of Roman agricultural knowledge in the early modemn period was a catalyst for the progress of European agriculture and the agricultural revolution in 18th century Britain.
