This study quantitatively analyzes the level of coupling coordination between tourism industry and high-quality economic development in 77 prefecture-level cities within the Yellow River National Cultural Park from 2012 to 2020,and identifies its main obstacle factors. The research results show that:(1)the level of tourism industry and high-quality economic development both show an upward trend, and the level of coupling coordination between the two subsystems shows a fluctuating upward trend;(2)the spatial aggregation characteristics of the degree of coupling coordination of tourism industry and high-quality development show four states such as high-high aggregation and high-low aggregation, which are characterized by remarkable spatial differentiation;(3)the obstacle factors at the criterion level that constrain the coupling and coordination degree of the two systems are mainly tourism service level, scale of tourism industry, innovation and coordination, etc.;the obstacle factors at the indicator level are mainly tourism income, number of tourist receptions, and total amount of passenger transportation.Based on the above conclusions, optimization suggestions such as strengthening cooperation coordination among prefecture-level cities, promoting resource sharing and mutual benefit are put forward to promote the positive interaction between the tourism industry and the high-quality development of the economy.
