With the introduction of the new concept of engineering education, the reform of higher education has gradually shifted to cultivating high-quality innovative talents who can adapt to the development of emerging industries and science and technology. The Inorganic chemistry course is mainly taught to freshmen, but some students still need to improve their academic adjustment. For example, the course content is highly theoretical, and it is diff icult to coordinate and synchronize theoretical knowledge with practice. In addition, the organic integration of theory and practical application is also inadequate. To solve this problem, this paper based on the teaching reform of inorganic chemistry course based on the concept of Outcome-Based Education(OBE),formulated scientif ic and reasonable teaching objectives, teaching strategies, solved the problem of disconnection between theory and practice, and built a diversif ied evaluation system, aiming at improving students’comprehensive teaching quality and innovation ability.Improve students’ability to learn independently and meet individual needs. At the same time, combined with practical teaching cases, the concrete implementation path and effect of inorganic chemistry course teaching reform under the background of new engineering are discussed.
