Reprogramming of energy metabolism is an important biological feature of tumor cells, which provides energy for tumor growth and proliferation through metabolic methods such as abnormal glycolysis and enhanced fatty acid synthesis.Brown adipose activation uptake of glucose and free fatty acids creates metabolic competition in tumor growth and proliferation, which inhibits tumor growth but accelerates malignant progression during periods of hypermetabolic malignancy. This article reviews the role of brown adipose tissue in energy metabolism and its effects on tumors, with a view to providing new ideas for the treatment of malignant tumors or cachexia.
