摘要
自我与他者是对立统一的,二者相互依存相互促进。译者在自我文化与他者文化间的选择和协调,对源语文化和目标语文化的平等交流与共同发展有着重要的影响。在《文心雕龙》英译中,宇文所安尊重源语他者,借助他者文化丰富和发展自我文化。施友忠尊重目标语他者,借助他者文化展示、建构和发展自我文化。两位译者对待自我与他者的方式同中有异,异中有同,最终都达成了文化交流的目的。可以说,《文心雕龙》的英译实践体现了译者对自我与他者的文化态度与文化追求。自我与他者合作共赢,译者的使命是在文化交流中追寻文化会通的意义。在不同的文化之间播撒文化交流的种子,推动文明对话,促进世界繁荣,译者永远处于自我与他者的对话之中。
The self and the other are the unity of opposites,and they are interdependent and promote each other.The translator's selection and coordination between the self-culture and the other-culture are conducive to the equal communication and common development of the source culture and the target culture.In the English translation of Wenxin Diaolong,Stephen Owen respects the other(the source language),enriches and develops the self-culture with the help of the other-culture.Vincent Y.C.Shih respects the other(the target language),and displays,constructs and develops the self-culture with the help of the other-culture.There are similarities and differences in the two translators'way of dealing with the self and the other.Eventually,both of them achieve the purpose of cultural exchange.It can be said that the English translation of Wenxin Diaolong reflects the translators'cultural attitude and pursuit of the self and the other.The translator's mission is to seek the meaning of cultural communication in cultural exchanges.In order to spread the seeds of cultural exchange between different cultures,promote the dialogue between civilizations and promote the prosperity of the world,translators are always in the dialogue between the self and the other.
