摘要
《大学英语教学指南(2020版)》的颁布为大学英语课程建设提供了框架性指导意见。本文以《指南》的框架为基础,从课程定性、课程设置、教学模式、网络平台建设以及师资转型等多维度对医学英语课程进行系统性探究。医学英语是专门用途英语的一个分支,是一个涵盖性术语,而非一门课程,其课程设置应该以学生的特定需求为基础,引入微课、慕课、翻转课堂、混合式教学等新的教学理念和教学模式。另外,建设适合医学院校自身实际情况、满足医学英语教学需求的网络交互平台对医学英语教学大有裨益。为解决医学英语教师短缺的困境,教师个人、学校管理层和教育主管部门应该共同努力,促进医学英语教师的培养和转型。这种多维度、系统性的认知和努力能够促进我国医学英语教育的良好发展。
The newly published Guidelines on College English Teaching(2020)provides a framework for college English curriculum.This paper,framed from the perspective of the Guidelines,analyzes and investigates the curriculum of English for Medical Purposes(EMP)in dimensions of the course nature,course design,pedagogical practices,adjunct online platforms,and teacher training and reorientation.EMP,a branch of English for Specific Purposes(ESP),is an umbrella term rather than one specific course.EMP courses should be designed to meet the specific needs of the students,and the recent pedagogical concepts and practices such as microlesson,MOOC,flipped classroom and online/blended learning are found to be applicable in and beneficial to the teaching of those courses.Advantages of online learning opportunities necessitate an online platform to facilitate classroom teaching.Joint efforts of the teachers,institutional administrators,and educational sectors are needed to address the shortage of EMP teachers and enhance EMP teacher training and reorientation.Such multidimensional systematic perceptions and efforts will contribute to the overall EMP education in China.
