摘要
教育是解决收入不公平的重要途径,现阶段我国研究生教育扩展能否调节居民收入差距?基于2000—2019年我国26个省份的面板数据,使用门槛回归模型对研究生教育扩展与收入差距之间的关系进行实证研究。结果表明,研究生教育扩展与居民收入差距之间存在经济门槛特征,地区经济水平(lnGDP)低于门槛值10.1357时,研究生教育扩展对收入差距的影响存在显著正效应,反之,其影响效应明显下降。在一定经济发展阶段,教育扩展的结构效应大于抑制效应,研究生教育扩展会扩大居民收入差距,但随着经济发展跨越门槛值后,研究生教育扩展的影响效应会逐渐减小。长期来看,应关注研究生教育扩展与收入差距的“门槛效应”,平稳扩展研究生规模,实现研究生教育从量到质的转变,发挥研究生教育调节收入差距的作用,以更好推动经济社会可持续和谐发展。
Education is an important way to solve income inequality.Can the expansion of postgraduate education in China at this stage adjust the income gap of residents?Based on the panel data of 26 provinces in China from 2000 to 2019,an empirical study on the relationship between postgraduate education expansion and income gap was conducted using a threshold regression model.The results show that there is an economic threshold between the expansion of postgraduate education and the income gap of residents.When the regional economic level(lnGDP)is lower than the threshold value of 10.1357,the expansion of postgraduate education has a significant positive effect on the income gap.At a certain stage of economic development,the structural effect of education expansion is greater than the inhibitory effect,and the expansion of postgraduate education will still exacerbate the income gap between residents,but as economic development crosses the threshold,the impact of postgraduate education expansion will gradually decrease.In the long run,pay attention to the“threshold effect”between the expansion of postgraduate education and the income gap,steadily expand the scale of postgraduate students,emphasize the transformation of postgraduate education from quantity to quality,and give play to the role of postgraduate education in regulating income gaps,so as to better promote sustainable economic and social harmony developing.
