摘要
随着数字经济和数字技术的快速发展,发展流程数字化为企业开展创新活动提供了新的思路。为考察制造业企业流程数字化对企业创新绩效的影响及其作用机制,基于世界银行2012年对于中国制造业的1212家企业调查数据,采用逐步回归法、Sobel检验和Bootstrap检验等方法进行实证检验。研究发现:流程数字化对企业二元学习和企业创新绩效都具有正向影响;企业二元学习对于流程数字化与企业创新绩效的关系发挥了部分中介作用;二元学习的相对平衡正向调节了流程数字化与企业创新绩效的关系,而二元学习的综合平衡的调节作用则不显著。研究结果在理论层面从二元学习的视角拓展了数字化转型对于企业创新的作用机制方面的研究,在实践层面对我国制造业企业通过数字化转型提升创新绩效具有重要的启示。
With the advent of the digital economy era, the development of business process digitalization provides new chances for firms to innovate. This paper aims to investigate how business process digitalization affects innovation performance and the underlying mechanism for China’s manufacturing firms. Based on the World Bank’s survey data of 1,212 Chinese manufacturing firms in 2012, we usehierarchical regression, Sobel test, and Bootstrap test to empirically test our theoretical hypotheses. We find that process digitalization has a positive impact on firms’ ambidextrous learning and innovation performance. Ambidextrous learning partially mediates the relationship between process digitalization and innovation performance. The relative balance of ambidextrous learning enhances the effects of business process digitalization on innovation while a comprehensive balance of ambidextrous learning does not significantly moderate the relationship between process digitalization and innovation performance. From the theoretical perspective of ambidextrous learning, we have extended the research on the mechanism how digital transformation helps firm enhance firm innovation, which has important implications for China’s manufacturing firms to leverage digital transformation to improve innovation performance.
