摘要
随着中国进入新发展阶段,对外贸易如何摆脱传统的成本依赖,培育出口竞争新优势,成为政策制定者和学术界共同关心的重大课题。本文基于2004年中国工业企业数据库和中国海关进出口数据库的匹配数据考察了劳动力技能多样性对出口产品质量的影响。研究发现:(1)企业劳动力技能多样性对企业出口产品质量产生了显著且稳健的促进作用;(2)渠道检验表明,劳动力技能多样化不仅提升了企业整体技能水平,而且提高了企业信息化水平和在职培训力度,诱致企业进口更多的国外中间品;(3)异质性检验发现,异质性检验发现劳动力技能多样性对产品差异化程度高、管理效率高、资本密集型企业的产品质量提升作用更大。
As China enters a new stage of development,how to get rid of the traditional cost dependence of trade and cultivate new competitive advantages has become a major issue of common concern for policy makers and academia.This paper examines the impact of diversity of labor skills on export product quality based on matched data from the 2004 Annual Sureys of Industrial Firms and Chinese Customs Trade Statistics.It is found that:(1)Diversity of labor skills has a significant and robust effect on the quality of enterprise export products;(2)channe tests indicate that diversity of labor skills not only enhances the overall skills level of enterprises,but also promotes the level of information lechnologyand on-the-job training,which induces enterprises to import more foreign intermediate goods;(3)The heterogeneity test finds that diversity of labor skills has a greater effect on product quality improvement for enterprises with high product differentiation,high management efficiency,and capital-intensive enlerprises.
