班宇小说最突出的美学特征,首先是一种现实主义精神,小说体现出厚重而深沉地介入社会现实的历史责任感。他以沈阳铁西区工人生活为题材,写出了历史变革过程中底层人的伤痛。其次,他的小说以细节叙事取胜,具有强烈的微观叙事美感,在平凡的日常生活之中、在一系列细枝末节的琐碎生活片段中,显出一种丰富、深厚之美。再次,他的小说善于塑造人物性格,刻画出了一批底层者形象。这些人物性格饱满、丰富、鲜明,使他的小说饱含着一种深切的人性体验。
The aesthetic characteristic of Ban Yu’s novels,firstly and prominently,is a spirit of realism.His novels show a kind of heavy historical responsibility to participate in social reality.Taking the life of workers in Tiexi District of Shenyang as his theme,he shows the pains and sorrows of the bottom life of society in the historical changes.Secondly,his novels are good at detail description,and have a strong sense of micro-narrative beauty.They show a rich and profound beauty through describing a series of trifles.Thirdly,his novels are also good at shaping characters,especially the characters from the bottom of society.Those characters are vivid and textured,reflecting a deep humanity experience.
