Objective To investigate the correlation between onychomadesis related with hand foot and mouth disease(HFMD)of children and virus type and serum trace element. Methods One hundred and seventeen cases of onychomadesis related with HFMD were all outpatients of dermatology department of our hospital.A retrospective survey was conducted among viral types. The serum trace elements were detected simultaneously. Results The positive number of enterovirus infection were 91 among the 117 onychomadesis related with HFMD cases, account for 77.78%.In 91 positive cases, the positive constituent ratio were:EV positive only 2.20%(2/91),CoxA16 positive only 3.30%(3/91)and other EV positive 94.51%(86/91).The levels of zinc, calcium, magnesium, iron and copper in the onychomadesis related with HFMD had no statistical significance compared with those in healthy children. Conclusion The onychomadesis related with HFMD in children was related to the other enteroviruses, but not EV71 and CoxA16.The result demonstrated a correlation of viral types and it was not associated with serum trace element.
