摘要
衢州的中国儒学馆作为对外展示儒家文化,彰显儒学魅力的宣传窗口,发挥着向中外参观者传播儒家思想的重要作用。为提升翻译准确度,该文以中国儒学馆的双语展板为例,通过实地考察,从古文到现代文到英文的多步骤翻译影响译文长度,中英文语言的一词多义现象可能产生歧义,中外高低语境的差异增加译文表达难度,译者的主观理解对译文造成影响等多方面解析中国儒学馆内材料译英过程中存在的一些漏洞,并提出相应建议。
The Chinese Confucianism Museum in Quzhou serves as a window into Confucian culture and the charm of Confucianism,playing an important role in spreading Confucianism to Chinese and foreign visitors.In order to improve the accuracy of translation,taking the bilingual exhibition boards of the Chinese Confucianism Museum as an example,and through field investigation,this paper analyzes the defects in the translation of the texts in the museum into English,in terms of the length of the translated texts affected by the multi-step translation from ancient Chinese to contemporary Chinese and then to English,the possible ambiguities caused by polysemy in Chinese and English languages,the difficulty in the expression of the translated texts caused by the high-context and low-context difference of Chinese and foreign languages,the influence of the translators'subjective understanding on the translated texts,and so on.Finally,corresponding suggestions are put forward.
